Curriculum as Part of Quality Assurance
Curriculum is one piece of our recursive, progressive model of academic improvement. At 性视界传媒, each phase of the quality assurance process informs the next, ensuring quality outcomes.
Curriculum and Assessment Deadlines
- Aug. 1 (Curriculum Deadline) — Next catalog modification available in CourseLeaf.
- Sept. 30 (Assessment Deadline) — Departmental review of annual program assessment results. The deadline facilitates the completion of the annual assessment report, which includes a report of faculty discussion and review of assessment reports.
- Oct. 15 (Assessment Deadline) — Annual program assessments are due to the provost's office. Provides the basis for curriculum modifications and/or new programs.
- Dec. 1 (Curriculum Deadline) — Curriculum modifications are approved by the dean's office. All course and program modifications of current and new programs.
- Feb. 15 (Curriculum Deadline) — UCC and SGS approval of all new courses or course modifications. The deadline facilitates optimal course scheduling for subsequent Fall enrollment (opens mid-March).
- Feb. 15 (Curriculum Deadline) — UCC and SGS initial review of all program modifications. The deadline provides an opportunity for committees to provide additional feedback to units.
- April 1 (Curriculum Deadline) — Catalog publication. The catalog outlines degree requirements, etc., for incoming students.
- April 25 (Curriculum Deadline) — The Board of Curators provides final approval of new programs for the next catalog. Program promotion can begin after Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development approval on July 1.
- May 30 (Assessment Deadline) — Collection of student learning outcomes data for annual program assessment. The deadline facilitates the achievement of student artifacts necessary for annual program review.
- July 15 (Curriculum Deadline) — Catalog update of faculty. The deadline provides for the processing of new hires and promotions to ensure the accuracy of faculty listings.
- May 1 (Curriculum Deadline) — Undergraduate course rotation update. Departmental course scheduling for the next four-year cycle provides planning information for Roo Advising and student planning.
- Aug. 1 (Curriculum Deadline) — Catalog final publication and freeze, which is required for a variety of accreditors, etc.
