RoosRead
Celebrate with us the inspiring, thought-provoking, and empowering power of the written word.
What Is RoosRead?
Not just a book club or study group—RoosRead is a call to action.
This intercampus initiative, launched by the Office of the Chancellor and facilitated by the Division of Diversity and Inclusion in the fall of 2023, encourages you to read a recommended title that showcases a distinctive voice, perspective, or theme and engage in discussions intended to generate action toward change.
Students, faculty, and staff, as well as alumni, friends, and community members, are welcome to participate in this collective learning experience.
Fall 2024 RoosRead Book
We're pleased to announce the 2nd annual RoosRead recommended title, "Disability Visibility," by Alice Wong.
From the Chicago Tribune
“Disability rights activist Alice Wong brings tough conversations to the forefront of society with this anthology. It sheds light on the experience of life as an individual with disabilities, as told by none other than authors with these life experiences. It's an eye-opening collection that readers will revisit time and time again.” —Chicago Tribune
